There is a political advertisement on TV that is blatantly inaccurate and tries to tarnish J. Paul Brown's reputation. 

The $200,000 figure is totally wrong, and those benefiting from Animal Damage Control (ADC) consist of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, San Juan Basin Woolgrowers, Pine River Irrigation District and all agricultural individuals in Archuleta and La Plata County.  

In the 1970s, the program was terminated due to a disagreement between the San Juan Basin Woolgrowers, the USDA, and the Colorado Department of Agriculture. This was a dispute over payment for injuries suffered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture trapper. 

 The county formed its own program under the auspices of Commissioners Brennan, Michael and Scott. Dale McCoy provided services to members in La Plata County. When J. Paul was elected county commissioner, he coordinated with the USDA, and the ADC Program was started again. 

The program provides services to the residents of Archuleta and La Plata counties, the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, Pine River Irrigation District and many other individuals having problems with wildlife including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. How somebody can make such statements is beyond belief. I still have the documents from the time that the county ran their own program up to the time that J. Paul got the State of Colorado's Department of Agriculture to reinstitute the program. 

This TV clip is trying to tarnish his name and reputation and is ludicrous. 

I strongly support J. Paul Brown as he has been responsible for providing a service to all residents of Archuleta and La Plata counties. Vote for J. Paul Brown!
