The Bayfield Lions Club announces the beginning of our annual Santa jar program, which runs through Dec. 24.

This program is one requesting financial assistance from the Bayfield community to support our annual Christmas projects designed to bring cheer to community children and needy families. Collection jars have been placed in many Bayfield and Gem Village business places for your convenience if you wish to contribute and help finance these projects.

All funds collected are returned to our surrounding community via our projects such as the Santa Claus Christmas eve visits requested by parents of small children; the provision of winter coats, hats, gloves, boots, pajamas, etc., for children of local needy families; food baskets for needy residents; and other miscellaneous needs of the community during these holiday times.

Contributions also can be mailed to the Bayfield Lions Club, PO Box 13, Bayfield, CO 81122, and label it for Lions' Christmas projects.
