Camp Invention, a nationally recognized, nonprofit summer enrichment camp program, will come to the Ignacio area from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 10 to 14 at Ignacio Middle School, 222 County Road 320.
Using hands-on activities, Camp Invention promotes science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning; builds confidence, leadership, perseverance, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills; and encourages entrepreneurship – in a fun and engaging environment.
Hands-on activities include Innovation Force, where campers team up to battle a supervillain who is out to steal the world’s greatest ideas; Deep Sea Mystery, where children embark on a research adventure at sea to dig up fossils; Farm Tech, where campers are put in charge of managing their own farm as they learn the basics of running a business; and DIY Orbot, where kids explore frequency, circuit boards, motors and gears as they use real tools to reverse-engineer a remote-control robot.
