William Ed Vollert, a sex offender who has been classified as a sexually violent predator, is back in custody.
Vollert was arrested April 2 for violating conditions of his patrol, according to a press release from the La Plata County Sheriff's Office.
Vollert is in the La Plata County Detention Center while his case is being reviewed, and he may return to a state prison facility.
The sheriff's office is not aware of any new crimes committed by Vollert.
Vollert, 29, was previously convicted of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault on a child.
He had been released from Colorado Department of Corrections and had been living in Durango, then moved to CR 510 southwest of Bayfield. His sex offense convictions were from cases in 2008 and 2009.
