Recently I attended a concert given by the combined choirs of Bayfield High School and Middle School.
This beautifully performed tribute to our flag, tracing its history and importance in song and readings, and honoring our military, veterans, and first responders, was much more than just a concert.
As I sat there with a lump in my throat, I felt such a sense of pride for a group of young people and their music directors, whom through their hard work and dedication, were able to do something so respectful and meaningful here in this little rural community. If you were there, I know you understand what I am saying. If you weren't, you missed out on a wonderful evening.
We are so blessed in our community to have the dedicated leadership in our schools working so hard in directing our young people in bringing quality programs to us.
Please mark your calendar for the combined choir-band winter concert on Dec. 14 at the Bayfield Performing Arts Center. Glad to be living here.
