As new Bayfield residents, we wandered into the Pine River Library to see what was offered.
We were amazed and happy to find such a special place! The range of programs and services impressed us and continues to do so. We've taken advantage of estate planning classes, radon testing programs, crafting, gardening, health programs, musical performances, movies, notary services, and many community events.
An unforeseen benefit of attending library offerings has been meeting people who now are treasured friends. Another thing that impressed us about the library was the number of youth who attend the library. We don't have children of our own, but recognize the value of having a safe and productive environment where kids can hang out.
We love the positivity among youth at the library (e.g., helping others, thanking staff, doing homework). In addition to the guidance they receive at home and school, we've witnessed the major role the library staff plays in helping them acquire worthwhile skills and values. The final thing that continues to impress us is the amazing work ethic of the library staff.
They make the library an inclusive place where people feel valued and accepted regardless of their diverse interests. The library has endured revenue decreases and has not requested a mill levy increase for 19 years. Thus, we are happy to support Ballot Issue 6A in November.
A YES vote for the Pine River Library ensures the continuation of outstanding programs and services for our community.
