The San Juan Symphony will perform a family concert of "Peter and the Wolf" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Bayfield Performing Arts Center at Bayfield High School.
There will be an instrument "petting zoo" for an hour before the concert, allowing children to touch and see instruments up close.
Concerts also will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Henderson Performance Hall in Farmington and at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.
General admission is $10 for adults, and tickets are available at the door. Children 14 and under can attend for free.
Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev wrote the symphony in 1936, and it has become a frequently performed work in the entire classical repertoire, particularly for children.
